We rent the two picnic areas at Painter Park (The Grove and The Pavillion) for picnics, family gatherings, birthday parties etc.  We start taking requests onTuesday, January 20, 2015. The fee is $75.00 plus a $50.00 CASH refundable deposit. Reservations must be done in person at the Parks and Recreation Office located in Painter Park 190 Kelsey Avenue. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and produce proof of  West Haven residency (drivers license, utility bill etc.) at time of application. No reservations will be taken over the phone, however you may call ahead to check availability. Reservations are on a "first come first served" basis.  Payment must be made at the time of registration and refundable "CASH" deposit one week prior to the event.  The permit season will begin second weekend in May and continue through to October. Beginning June - August, reservations will be permitted weekdays after 5pm-ONLY.  Your permit is from 9:00am until dusk unless noted otherwise. Park rules and regulations for use will be given to you at the time of reservation. Also, the park at Shingle Hill is available for rental for a $50.00 fee.
ALL REQUESTS ARE FOR WEST HAVEN RESIDENTS ONLY.  SORRY, NO ONLINE RESERVATIONS WILL BE OFFERED FOR RENTAL of THESE FACILITIES.
