"NEW" During the December school break, WHPR will be offering open gym during the day - 10am-12pm on Friday, Dec. 27th, Monday, Dec. 30th & Tuesday, Dec. 31st! FEE: $2  

This weekly drop-in open gym basketball program beginning December 2 - March 30 is offered to West Haven residents ONLY. Please arrive at the the school gymnasium entrance to be admitted at 6:30pm by WHPR Supervisors. DO NOT ENTER the gym without WHPR SUPERVISOR! Doors will be closed promptly at 7pm. There is a NO re-entry policy once you leave.  Maximum of 45 participants nightly.


Youth - 6 - 18 years Mondays & Wednesdays starting Dec. 2 & 4 from 6:30-8:30pm at Carrigan school gymnasium on 2 Tetlow St.  FEE: $2 nightly. (please no pennies)

Purchase a $40 open gym pass for the season (Dec.- Mar.) and you don't have to worry about paying nightly!

General Information
  • **NO OPEN GYM DECEMBER 23, 25, and JANUARY 1, 20, FEBRUARY 17 . Closed due to holidays & school break.**
  • Open to youth 6-18yrs who are residents of West Haven. Proof of residency required to be shown to the program supervisor i.e. - school I.D., driver license, or utility bill.
  • Gym door opens at 6:30pm by WHPR SUPERVISOR. Please arrive by 7pm to be admitted as doors will be CLOSED. There is a NO RE-ENTRY POLICY. Maximum of 42 participants nightly!
  • FEE payable at the door nightly:
  • $2.00 nightly (please, NO PENNIES). * purchase an open gym pass for $40 and you won't have to pay nightly!*
  • Program may be canceled due to federal, state holiday, school event or weather. "ALERT" will be posted on website homepage.
