Playgrounds
Summer vacation playground activities include swimming, arts & crafts, sports, games, special events, and field trips. Playground program meets OUTDOORS on the school premise and children are supervised by high school and college aged counselors.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Due to the July 1st 2010 closing of Thompson School we will be unable to offer a playground site at this location. See below for other options for a playground site to attend.
General Information
- We offer this FREE six-week playground program to West Haven youngsters ages 6-12. Child must be 6yrs. by July 1st.
- Parent or guardian PLEASE REGISTER children starting July 6 at the closest playground site to your neighborhood. PROOF of AGE and RESIDENCY REQUIRED upon registration. REGISTRATION IS DONE AT EACH PLAYGROUND SITE LOCATION! Program registration ends July 16th.
- Our program meets Mon-Fri, starting TUES. July 6-Aug.13.
- PROGRAM HOURS 9:00 a.m.-1:45p.m. Please pick-up children PROMPTLY.
- The program DOES NOT meet on rain days and may close early in the event of rain or thunderstorms.
- The City’s summer nutrition program is available to qualified sites please check with the site counselors.
- PLEASE NOTE: For liability reasons, we reserve the right to limit 50 youngsters in the pool per site on swim days.
